Just when Tulsa realized that its future lay in the nearby oilfields, two enterprising young men, John R. Cartmill and Irwin D. Rich staked their future on providing protection of the buildings and contents of thriving new businesses in Tulsa.

Little did these two entrepreneurs realize their names would live on as an icon for independent insurance long after they were gone. As the firm grew in coverage and types of clientele, so too its staff out-grew four other locations, until today its 40-plus shareholders and associates are taking care of clients' needs throughout Oklahoma and its bordering states: Missouri, Kansas, and, Colorado.

The mission of Rich & Cartmill, Inc. today remains much as it did more than three-quarters of a century ago: to provide the best coverage possible at the least cost to our clients.
